Lost Shih Tzu Dog Finds Owner’s New House After Five Years

Prince, a Shih Tzu dog, found his owner Myra Carillo's new home after five years away.

When Prince, a Shih Tzu puppy disappeared from owner Myrna Carillo’s California home, she looked all over for him, but couldn’t find her dog anywhere. In the five years since, her life’s seen many changes: She’s moved four times, gotten married, and had two children. So when a familiar face turned up at her door last week, she was shocked to see her little puppy all grown up.

Though Carillo’s house is several miles away from the home where she raised the young dog, Prince had stumbled across her new abode. He recognized his former owner instantly, and, though his fur was long and matted, Carillo knew the dog was hers.

Now, Prince is reacquainting himself with Carillo—and getting to know the three new friends she’s added to the family since he’d been gone.
