Young Entrepreneur Christian Owens Makes First Million at 16
16-year-old Christian Owens has already made more than one million dollars from his site, Mac Bundle Box, and has even higher hopes for his new company, Branchr.
While most 16 year olds are working at local fast food joints for minimum wage, the UK’s Christian Owen is bringing home a slightly bigger paycheck: in the last two years, he’s made more than one million dollars from a website called Mac Bundle Box.
Owen’s website had few startup costs, and because he’s been designing websites since he was 10, he created the site on his own. The concept is simple: he packages a set of Mac apps from various developers together, selling the bundle at a steep discount. He also tempts more people to buy by promising that after a certain number of people purchase the package, another app will be unlocked for all buyers. The concept has proven to be a smash success.
Now, Owens has moved on to a new venture: Branchr, an advertising platform that displays over 300 million ads each month on websites and mobile apps. The company’s made $800,000 in its first year, and Owens has already hired eight employees, including his mother. His major goal, though, is to make one hundred million British pounds from the company.
We’re guessing if he’s already made a million dollars by the time most teens are just focusing on getting their drivers’ licenses, his goals aren’t too far out of the question.
Owens doesn’t think that there’s anything too special about him, though. ”I think everyone has business sense in them, they just need to gain experience and be determined to make it,” he told SWNS.com.
