Ella Haag, a toddler from Minnesota, caught a 20-pound muskie while fishing on Saturday.
On Saturday, 2-year-old Ella Haag went fishing with her grandparents near Randall, Minnesota, well-equipped for the task with a Barbie fishing pole and a live worm. She’d hoped for the chance to catch something in the water—but before long, she got more than she’d bargained for when a huge muskie, weighing almost 20 pounds, clamped down on her fishing line.
Ella wasn’t quite strong enough to reel the giant fish in on her own, so her grandfather took over from there, grabbing a net to catch the muskie. After taking a photo with the muskie, Ella and her family threw the giant fish back into the water to swim away.
Ella was very excited about her catch, but could probably use a lesson in marine biology. “I caught a shark!” she shouted.
