A dog lost in Colorado turns up in a faraway place: Tennessee.
It’s every pet owner’s worst nightmare—your dog bolts out the door into the cruel world and all its dangers. That’s what happened to Vonda Lundstrom last April when her terrier, Daisy, escaped through a hole in the fence in Aurora, Colo.
After months of searching, she had given up hope. But then something amazing happened. Eight months, 1,300 miles and one good Samaritan later, the storyfound itshappy ending.
On Christmas night, Tracie Crass found Daisy wandering the streets—in Knoxville, Tenn.! Crass tracked down Daisy’s vet via her collar. No one knows how Daisy ended up in Tennessee, but that didn’t matter—she was about to be reunited with her overwhelmed owner.
After a few delays, Daisy returned to Denver on Jan. 3. "She licked me, she loved on me," Lundstrom said. "I have my baby back, that’s for sure."
We would love to know what happened on Daisy’s great journey, but as of now, she’s not talking to the press.
