We missed some great artists in our previous round-up of acoustic guitar instrumentals - here are even more to enjoy.
We received a hugely positive response to our article on 8 must-see instrumental acoustic guitar videos—but, of course, lots of people thought we’d left some of their favorite performers out. Since then, we’ve received links to many more amazing guitar performances, and wanted to spotlight the best of what we’ve found. While this is by no means a definitive list, we think everyone will find something to enjoy here.
So, without further adieu, here’s the sequel to our list of must-see instrumental guitarists!
The late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan has long been known as one of the world’s best electric guitarists, but he shows off his acoustic chops in this awe-inspiring version of “Rude Mood” from a performance on MTV Unplugged.
Trace Bundy, an instrumental guitarist from Boulder, Colorado, has been nicknamed “The Acoustic Ninja” by his fans. Find out why in this incredible showcase of his skills as he plays “Dueling Ninjas,” from the album Adapt.
Antoine Dufour, a Quebecois guitarist on the amazing CandyRat Records label, has a remarkable style that includes unique percussive moves. Check out his original song, “Scratch” from the album Naissance.
Erik Mongrain, also from Quebec, uses a technique known as lap tapping, in which the guitar is laid across his lap and played with both hands. He uses the move to great effect in this beautiful performance, “Air Tap.”
The multi-talented Egberto Gismonti is a guitarist and pianist from Brazil who performs on a 10-string guitar. In addition to his many albums, he’s created music for ballets, theatre performances, and movie scores. Check out his beautiful “Dança das Cabeças” here.
