Puppies Get a Brand-New Ride

Most dogs go crazy for the chance to ride along in the backseat of a car. But not too many end up with their very own sets of wheels.

Chihuahua puppies Venus, Carmen, and Pablo, are the lucky ones with luxury rides of their very own – in fact, they’ve even got their very own form of “front-wheel drive.”

Don’t worry – it’s not nearly as silly as it sounds. In fact, these puppies’ “cars” are simply a way to get them up to speed with their four-legged friends – you see, due to a genetic defect, these three siblings were born without front legs. Though they’re able to stand on their hind legs to move around for brief periods of time, the unnatural act puts serious strain on the dogs’ backs.

But now, the three dogs can roll anywhere they want, thanks to the custom-built, fleece-padded aluminum carts from a company called Eddie’s Wheels, which specializes in creating mobility devices for disabled pets. The carts are designed to be used for about ten minutes at a time, and the puppies are having a blast cruising around on their new wheels. We bet they’ll pick up drag racing any day now.
