A mini robot that folds itself up, does cool stuff, and then dissolves into nothing - equal parts creepy, cute and super cool.
Researchers from MIT and TU Munich have debuted a mini bug-like robot that builds itself, walks, swims, carries out a few simple tasks, then dissolves. Last weekend at ICRA 2015 in Seattle, this tiny bot was debuted and destroyed, demonstrating the first of its kind to have a full "life cycle". Aside from how much fun you can have with this little guy, what's the point of the demonstration? Oh, so as to prove that it can do the same thing INSIDE YOUR BODY. That's right, the future of medicine is just that cool.
