As newly discovered deep sea creatures floated in and out of the camera’s view from 9,300 feet down, information and observations were crowdsourced live, and science went berserk.
A team of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration-supported scientists operating an ROV (remotely operated vehicle) captured and live streamed video from the deep sea off the coast of Puerto Rico and experts from all over the globe chimed in. As deep sea creatures floated in and out of the camera’s view from 9,300 feet down, information and observations were crowdsourced live. Many of these tiny animals had never been seen or documented by science, which is crazy because they are pretty adorable.
